FAQs

1) How long have the SABS been on the market?
The initial design started in 2001. Now with all testing certification, worldwide patents completed. Retail orders began shipping November 2011.

2) What are the benefits of the SABS braking system?
     Safety.
Installing the SABS braking system has been tested to reduce your braking distance by almost 50%. As well, most people know how to brake properly in standard situations, but in emergency situations is when the SABS brake will provide additional safety, allowing the rider a very controlled stop, within the shortest distance, without any wheel lockup.

3) Is there any difference between the Gold and Black coloured SABS?
No, it is just a colour preference.

4) Does it require battery, hydraulic or pneumatic power?
The SABS braking system functions entirely on a mechanical design with no battery, hydraulic or pneumatic requirements.

5) What is the expectancy of the brake pad and what happens when the pads wear out?
The life expectancy is dependent on rider use, but we expect that the brake pads will need to be changed yearly. The replacement pads are sold separately and are easy DIY.

6) What is the SABS warranty?
The warranty covers any manufacturer defects of your SABS brakes for 90 days for the original purchaser from the date of purchase, with the original bill of sale. For all defects covered by the limited warranty, the manufacturer will repair, or at their discretion exchange for a refurbished unit. If the manufacturer repairs or replaces the device, the replacement device will carry a warranty period equivalent to the original device's warranty. The manufacturer's limited warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by: unauthorized modification, misuse, improper installation or brake pad wear.

7) What is the difference between the V1, V2, C1, C2 and D models?
It is basically the different installation configuration of the frequency module, whether the frequency module is installed forward or rear facing. Using the V2 units for the front brakes and the V1 units for the rear brakes will accommodate almost all biking requirements.
